SY
2012-2013 School Bus Pre-Registration
Current school bus riders
will be receiving via their bus the SY 2012-2013 School Bus Handbook
(application on the last page). Newly enrolled students or incoming
6th graders may pick up the School Bus Handbook from the Kapolei Middle
School Office.
Applications may be
returned to the KMS Office or to the bus driver (for current riders) no
later than June 15, 2012.
Parking
Your
child's safety is our primary concern. We ask that you do not park
along the Kapolei Parkway at the end of the day. Kapolei Parkway (past
the school) is no longer a dead end, and therefore is dangerous for our
students to cross to get to and from the subdivision or parked cars.
Please use the designated parking lot on Kama'aha Avenue (G bldg.) to pick
up and drop off your child.
Effective August
20, 2007 - No pass, No ride Policy
From Philip Main, Leeward District Transportation Officer

a bus pass application form for your child yet, you must do so
immediately in order to ensure uninterrupted school bus service.

(if applicable) to the school office no later than July 7, 2010
in order to receive a temporary bus pass (which will be valid for no more
than 5 calendar days).
Beginning August 20,2007, Students who are unable to display a valid bus
pass to the driver will not be permitted to ride the school bus.
You will be expected to furnish transportation for you child. No

Geographic Exemptions (GE)
Geographic
Exemptions (GE's) will continued to be accepted for Kapolei Middle School.
However, our Principal has denied all GE applications regardless of reason.
We were switched to become a multi-track school due to
overcrowding - while the school was built for 1200, we now have an
enrollment of 1500+ and have had to install an additional 10 portables in
order to accommodate all students rightfully in our district.
We thank you for your interest in our school, but unless we
revert to the single calendar and are declared fit to have GE's, none will
be granted. Calls/inquiries regarding GE's will not be returned.
KMS School Uniforms
School uniforms may be purchased at Education Works. If you have
questions or concerns regarding school uniforms, you may contact your
child's counselor or Vice Principal Sua'ava.
Teacher
Positions
All parties interested in teaching positions should contact the Department
of Education's State Recruitment office (located at the Dole Cannery)
directly at 586-3420. Open positions are filled through the DOE and
not by the individual school.
